Easy Blogger Jr.

Classroom educators wanting their students to blog must be aware of what students post and age standards for use of social media (see Resonsible Use of Technology). Easy Blogger Jr and Easy Blog Jr (iOS apps from the Easy App Co) offer one easy way address the first concern.

These apps submit posts to a Blogger (Easy Blogger) or WordPress (Easy Blog) account as draft allowing the account owner (a teacher) to view the posts before publishing. The intend would be to have apps on multiple iPads as an efficient way for students to blog.

With the Easy blogger app, an account is created for an individual student (the button within the red square opens up a window).

A profile is created for each student using an iPad. A key setting (Review posts) requires a submission to be reviewed by the blog owner before it is made public.

Easy blogger simplifies the content creating options.

Posts submitted with Easy Blogger appear as drafts with Blogger. The teacher would then review and post the submission.

The Easy App Company comments on other issues a teacher should consider. For example, it is recommended that a Blogger account be created specific to the purpose of posting student content and not as part of a teacher blog
