Beauty and Joy of Coding

While it has been easy for us to demonstrate or link to coding activities for younger students, it is a little more challenging to illustrate what a "coding for all" course might look like for students at the secondary level. Here is an example.

Berkeley computer scientist Dan Garcia has developed a popular MOOC (massive open online course) that is used in many secondary schools. The course titled "Beauty and Joy of Computing" combines the use of visual coding using Snap (a web based system similar to, but more advanced than Scratch) and units on the social implications and challenges of advancing technology.

Both the curriculum and Snap are available to any interested individual.
