What do you make of this? Google is going after services that allow the capture of YouTube content. I am trying to determine what the issue is here. It could be that these services allow the download of content without the permission of content producer. It is also possible that the content producer may intend to distribute the content and would not object. Consider a parallel to images and Flickr. With Flickr the content creator (the photographer) has some control over whether the full size image can be downloaded or not. Why would Google care if the producer of a video did not object to the content being shared. The answer, I suppose, is that Google may prefer the activity within the Google system.
