I discovered something today others may find useful. A downside of upgrading to Lion (mac OS) has been that some of the tools I had relied on will no longer work. Today, I needed a simple tool for modifying a web page (HTML editor). I create interactive syllabi as web pages so students can link directly to things I want them to examine. I use Dreamweaver for more complicated projects, but I don’t have a copy on my office machine. I tend to use a simple editor for simple jobs.
What I discovered is that Sea Monkey (a Mozilla open source project) contains an editor for HTML. Who knew? I even use Sea Monkey. I have this strange aversion to multiple tabs on browsers and prefer multiple browsers when I want something to just be open in the background – Sea Monkey was that browser used just for music. I guess I owe it a little more respect. Check the menubar drop downs – Edit page is under the file.
Thanks for the heads up–who knew indeed?! Now we do know thanks to you…
